Puppy announcement!!

IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED A PUP FROM ME BEFORE PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL AS I WOULD LOVE TO INCLUDE YOUR PUP IN THE NEW REGISTRY FOR OUR BREED.

NOTE TO ADOPTEES: The pups you see below are very nice but some are "pet quality" and priced as such.  The "best" of the "best" never hit my website as they are sold to people who had deposits on litters.  Those adoptees with deposits PRIOR TO POSTING OF PICS get first choice so since they are sold they never are seen on the pups for sale page.   So if you are very particular or want something specific (as do those in the horse community who want the best looking they can find) contact me about upcoming litters to get first choice.   Also......I never grant breeding rights and everyone needs to be aware of the fact you could find out your pup is already altered after you purchase him/her and have paid for your pup. I do NOT want breeders contacting me. I am the only person these pups have to decide their future life will be and they will not go into puppy mills for breeding purposes no matter how much is offered to me for those breeding rights!! Breeding rights are not for sale at any price at City Slickers. There is another website recently named similar to mine so don't get mine confused with that one.

PUPPY LOOKERS

For some reason I do not get all my emails sent thru my website so if I do not answer within 12 hours email me again.   Also, many people are looking for the toy aussies aka North American Shepherd that have REAL "aussie type" but yet want to pay the same price breeders charge who have toys that look like anything but an aussie.  I GIVE AWAY half the dogs I bring in here that I have 2000.00 invested in (purchasing price and shipping) because they do NOT have "aussie type" to meet my standards.   So, I certainly can not absorb that expense I incur breeding for "the best" or I couldn't feed my dogs the quality of food they get and provide them with the comfort they deserve.   So, if you want true "AUSSIE TYPE" in the smaller package I have them OR if you just want a nice pet I sometimes have that also in litters however........the price will reflect that difference.  I can not give stud dogs away that cost me 2000.00 just so folks can have "aussie type" for the same price as breeders charge who do not breed to the same aussie standard I use or I could not afford to work tirelessly to improve this breed as I do.   Also, I am the only breeder specializing in toys in Florida (maybe Ga also) that does hip and eye clearances on my adults.  I also have nice minis but there are several mini breeders in Florida that like me do health clearances on their adult minis they keep in their program.

"I have some great pups in all colors both toys and minis that will be going up on the website soon.  If you have a color preference you might want to contact me to see what is available before pictures are posted if you are very specific about what you are looking for.   If my vet clears the way for spay/neuter before they leave me that will be done (even after paid for in full) so puppy mills and breeders you need not contact me regardless of how much money you offer for breeding rights."

December 2009

Due to my busy upcoming Spring show season and Nationals in Indiana I bred my girls now vs Spring so will have lots of puppy choices coming up so if you want something special let me know and I can fill you in on whether I expect a pup like that in my upcoming litters. I have a newborn litter not yet posted with large toys/small minis in both merles and black tris.  I even have a red merle female and a red merle male but eyes not open in these pups so not sure of eye color yet.  This litter of newborns not posted can go home at the end of January or first of Feb.

PUPPY DEPOSITS.....There is a 200.00 puppy deposit for which you will add 50.00 to that deposit to cover spay/neuter as I hold my fur children a little longer than most so this can be done prior to leaving.  I do not believe a pup should leave before 10 weeks old and the toys not until 3 months old.  This has worked great for me for 10 years.  I make occasional exceptions based upon the home the pup is going into.  If the vet does not think it is safe to spay/neuter I will refund the 50.00 or it can go toward full puppy price as does the rest of the deposit.

****Another Toy Aussie breeder in Florida is charging 1500.00 to 2500.00 for pups that she is advertising will stay under 10 lbs. If you purchase a pup from her make sure she gives you a MONEY BACK guarantee if they do not! She is also granting breeding rights on small toy females and in my opinion that is totally inhumane since this breed has large dogs up close behind it. Only the small toy males should be bred....NEVER a tiny female unless you want a dead mother dog. Also, make sure all toy breeders are doing their PRAcd DNA work because this is a blinding disorder in our breed that only a DNA test will prove if a parent is effected. I have done those tests.

PUPPY 1

PUPPY #1.....

Puppy below is a lovely correct red merle male. He is our Kalea's full sister. She was in last year's litter and she is truly the most comical fun love fur child I have ever produced here at City Slickers. All 3 pups not sold are pups 1,2 and 3 with both parents and grand parents with the best personalities you will find in this breed. This pup has one blue eye and actually his eye color makes for a prettier face than 2 full blue eyes like his sister has. If you want a pup that will keep you smiling this pup is for you. The two pups below are his littermates. He is 900.00 and worth every penny of it! I expect him to mature in the range of 20 to 24 lbs.He can go home after the 3rd week in October.  Since only 1 percent of the breeders are doing DNA iwork on their adults ruling out the relatively new eye disease I'm proud to be one that is. Based upon the DNA lab results these pups will NEVER develop the blinding PRAcd disease.

PUPPY 2

PUPPY #2....

Below is a darling red tri male sibling of the above puppy. Please read the puppy's text above as it cover this pup for the most part. He has a great personality as do all the pups in this litter. He is has 2 green eyes. He is 600.00 and worth every penny because he has the best personality this breed has to offer.  Since only 1 percent of the breeders are doing DNA iwork on their adults ruling out the relatively new eye disease I'm proud to be one that is. Based upon the DNA lab results these pups will NEVER develop the blinding PRAcd disease.

PUPPY 3

PUPPY #3.....

Below is a lovely loudly marked show quality pup that is hard to beat in personality and structure in a small mini/large toy. He is PRECIOUS in every single way. I wish I could keep this entire litter. He is 800.00 and worth every penny by far. All 3 of these pups will be great for children or retired adults. They are like little people and part time clowns. This pup will mature in the 20 lb range.  Since only 1 percent of the breeders are doing DNA iwork on their adults ruling out the relatively new eye disease I'm proud to be one that is. Based upon the DNA lab results these pups will NEVER develop the blinding PRAcd disease.

PUPPY 4

PUPPY #4....

Below is a half sibling to pups 1,2 and 3. They have the same father. Their father is a grandson of Bluegrass Irish Creme who was a red merle marked similar to this pup. I haven't had a shy pup out of "Traveler" yet so personalities are just the best in his children. This red merle male has a blue eye and a green eye. He is stocky with a darling head. I wish I had the room to keep him in the program but I already have a brother thru his mother. I will probably keep the bk tri brother in this litter. I am waiting until he is 8 weeks old for puppy puzzle for show quality. This lovely boy is 900.00 and no breeding rights. He will be a small mini/large toy in that great 13 .5 to 14 inch range. He is only 6 weeks old in these pictures so a big hard to stack him just yet. He will be free of PRAcd since I am in that 1% group of breeders who are doing their DNA for this blinding disease.

PUPPY 5

PUPPY #5....

Black tri brother to puppy #4 so please read about this pup in the puppy 4 text. He may be staying if he is show quality. If not he will go to a pet home. He will be 700.00 if he is pet quality. He will be in that 20 lb range of small mini/large toy. Naturally since I am in the small percentage of breeders clearing my program of PRAcd this pup will not develop that blinding eye disease.

PUPPY 6

PUPPY #6....

Below is a black tri toy female. She should have quite a personality is she is like her full siblings were in the litter last year. She is 800.00 and can go home in December. If she is show quality and gets large enough I may choose to keep her if I do not get a deposit on her quickly. Her bloodlines are very nice especially for a toy! As one of the few breeders testing for the dreaded PRAcd blinding eye disease I can proudly say she will NOT develop that due to her parent's DNA results.

PUPPY 7

PUPPY #7....

Below is a toy black tri brother to puppy #6. He looks very much like her. He is 800.00 and should have a wonderful personality.

PUPPY 8

PUPPY #8....

Below is a blue merle small mini female. She is just a baby only a month old in these pictures. Can't pose a pup that young so we did the best we could. By the way her pink nose will fill on in as 2 weeks ago it was totally pink. She is 850.00 assuming she has at least 1 blue eye. With brown eyes she is 750.00. I am happy to say that I'm in the very small percentage of breeders who has done the necessary DNA work on my adults to make sure my pups will not have the dreaded blinding PRAcd disease.

PUPPY 9

PUPPY #9....

Black tri mini male. He is a littermate to Puppy 8. He is smaller than her. He may be a large toy and not a small mini. He is 500.00 and obviously hard to pose at this age. Therefore only one picture for now. Since few breeders do DNA testing on their adults to make sure their pups do not have the blinding PRAcd disease I am proud to say that I do.

PUPPY 10

PUPPY #10....

Below is a mini black tri female. She is a littemate to the previous 2 pups. The DNA testing assures she will not have the dreaded PRAcd blinding eye disorder. She is 500.00.

PUPPY 11

PUPPY #11....

Raven's litter was born tonight and she is sitting here beside me sporting 3 darling pups. I missed my husband's highschool football game tonight since Raven decided we would have pups instead! She has a small bk tri male that may be a toy. She has a blue merle female that will probably be a small mini/large toy and a blue merle male that will be small mini/large toy.

WINTER 2009

FIRST puppy pick up of the Winter began this AM as pups are nearly 9 weeks old.  That is the age I send pups home.  Many families visit weekly after they purchase their pups so when they go home they already know their  "forever parents".   Four great families picked up their fur children after many weekly visits  and we want to share the fun this morning with our cyberspace audience.

Notice how these sibling littermate pups already know which person their "forever mom" is and how they can't take their eyes off of her!

Suzanne with Brady.  Suzanne has offered to allow me to breed Brady back to one of my girls so we are so excited!   He is about as good as a toy size Aussie (now known as North American Shepherd-Div 1 size outside the rare breed circuit).

More pics of him.

Half sister from a different litter (same father) showing Brady girls are boss!

Brady's littermate Austin

more pics of her

Austin giving mom a wonderful puppy kiss!

Now Austin is giving Brady's mom a kiss to show her littermate brother Brady up.

Now she is teaching her brother Brady how you kiss!

Brady says "We are lucky to always be together because our moms are friends".

RG and Ann Williams   (more pics of their pup below)

Mom already dressing her up!

Priceless picture of Granny LasRocosa Meg getting a good bye kiss from her lovely grand daughter.  Shows even "fur children" love THEIR grandmas!

Mark and his new little son "Bandit".  He is Scarlet's littermate
so a Meg Grandson.   More of Bandit below

Notice Bandit is trying to get his littermate Scarlet to play "ear tug a war" with him and leave Austin (on the bottom) alone.

Granny LasRocosa Meg isn't happy with her Grandson for pulling on his sister's ear!

Notice the nice "bone" Granny Meg passed down to him!

He is sneaking out of the puppy play area but I was waiting for him with the camera.
